Special Editions, Special Occasions

Detailed Description

This suggestion is for when game goes out of BETA.

Every few months (2 or 3 or 4 months) a special edition of the game could be available to players on a subdomain of the game. The special editions could be themed, or as challenges. And top 3 or top 10 or top 50 airlines could be rewarded in some way in the main game.

Examples for rewards:

  • In-game money prize.
  • 10 off the monthly lease for a month. There could be more rewards thought of by the community.

Themes can be "1970s", "1980s", "2020s", etc. in which aircraft from those periods would only be played. In themed editions the airlines in the top tier of reputation or points could be rewarded in the main game.

Challenges can be "World Airport Challenge", "Asia Airport Challenge", "Africa Airport Challenge", "Hypothetical Political Restrictions", etc. Challenges could be decided according to the duration of the Special Edition.

Context

Why is this change important to you? How would you use it?

Special Editions could be used to keep the players in the main game striving for more and in a themed or a challenging world. Personally, I would love to have this kind of events every few months to engage more with the community.

How can it benefit other users?

Winners in the top tier would be rewarded in the main game. Also, older aircrafts not manufactured anymore would be used and this could be a way to relive how it could had been back in those days in the real world.
